Bwema Matata has more than 10 years of experience working with refugees and host communities in Uganda, the DRC and the United States. Bwema is a professional public health specialist and social worker by training with a Masters degree of Advanced Clinical Social Work Practice at Columbia University in the City of New York, Masters degree in Public Health of Bugema University in Uganda and is currently a Doctorate of Social Work candidate at Walla Walla University in Washington. Bwema is also the co-founder and Country Director of Young Global Leader Network Democratic Republic of Congo. Previously, Bwema worked as a Child Protection Focal Point with Finn Church Aid at Kyaka II in Uganda. He also supported the implementation of UNHCR, ECHO, UNDP and UNICEF Awards under different international organizations including Save the Children International.
