Betsy Miles LMSW, is an American social worker who earned her Master of Social Work degree from Columbia University in New York City with a focus in Advanced Clinical Practice. Betsy began her work with Friends of Kisoro in 2018 as a Tamer Social Enterprise Fellow and went on to serve as the Executive Director for Friends of Kisoro from 2020-2022. Betsy has a social work practice background in individual, family and group therapy with adult and children survivors of domestic violence and abuse, survivors of torture, refugees, asylum seekers, and other forcibly displaced persons. She has worked with the Interational Rescue Committee, Safe Horizon, Libertas Center for Human Rights, Bellevue Program for Survivors of Torture, and African Services Committee.
